Quick Answer: What Is the Abyss?
The Abyss is AION 2's cross-server PvPvE endgame zone, unlocked at level 45: open-world faction war between Elyos and Asmodians, scheduled Rifting windows that open invasion paths, 10v10 battlefields, and arenas — all feeding Abyss Points, the currency of the PvP progression track (and of the Potential enhancement system).
- Unlock: level 45 (one of the twelve-plus systems that open at the cap wall).
- Rifting: scheduled windows when faction invasions open — the open-world PvP heartbeat.
- 10v10 battlefields and arenas: the instanced PvP formats.
- Abyss Points: earned through PvPvE, spent on the Potential power track.
How PvP and PvE Feed Each Other
Abyss Points buy Potential enhancement steps (10 Potential Stones plus 400,000 Abyss Points for the four-step track on a slot), which makes PvP participation part of the power build even for dungeon-focused players. In the other direction, Conquest-tier gear from PvE is what keeps you alive in Rifting windows. The two economies are deliberately entangled — plan both or fall behind in both.
