Quick Answer: How Does Gear Power Work in AION 2?
Two numbers describe your gear: item level (per piece) and aggregate item level (the sum across everything you have equipped β the community calls it gear score or iLvl). Grades run Common β Rare β Epic β Unique. Conquest dungeons check the aggregate number: Tier 1 opens at 700, Tier 2 at 1,400, Tier 3 at 2,100, Tier 4 at 2,800, Tier 5 at 3,000.
| Grade | Max Enhancement | Safe Up To | Odds After Safe Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | +5 | +5 | Always succeeds |
| Rare | +5 | +5 | Always succeeds |
| Epic | +10 | +10 | Always succeeds |
| Unique | +15 | +10 | 65% β 50% β 35% β 25% β 20% (+5% bonus per failure) |
The Item Level Ladder
Unique gear comes in fixed item levels: 36, 41, 43, 44, 45, 46, 51, 54, 56, 62, 65, 70, 78, 86, 94 and 102 at launch. Epic gear fills the 25-45 band, Rare the 13-35 band and Common the earliest slots. Your goal at endgame is simple: every slot Unique, then push the aggregate up the Conquest ladder.
- Aggregate item level = the sum of item levels across equipped slots β single missing slots drag it hard.
- Enhancement raises aggregate without replacing gear: +15 on a Unique beats +10 by five points per slot.
- Amplify Stones extend Unique gear past +15 on higher item level pieces β that is the 2,100+ ladder.
- Potential Stones (with Abyss Points) add a separate PvP power track per slot.
